Launched AirVnV: The World's First Ventilator-Sharing App

At the start of the COVID-19 crisis, Americans were faced with the prospect of having to share a ventilator. For a small fee, AirVnV offered the comfort of choosing a breathing partner based on your preferences.

Social media posts led people to pre-enroll at AirVnv.us. There, a quick survey asked visitors how important race, sexual orientation, or political affiliation were when seeking someone to keep them breathing. Given the rhetoric online, this seemed like something worth considering.

Sure, it was satire, but we made good on the promise of “making the crisis easier for everyone” by then redirecting visitors to an opportunity to donate to the American Nurses Foundation. It was really just a dark little joke meant to drum up some support. But, could be a decent start-up.

The whole thing was thrown together pretty quickly, but was still able to raise a bit of cash for a good cause.
