During “Lockdown,” I was introduced to Humanaut and their unique approach to creating truth-based, attention-grabbing work for challenger brands.
Together, we launched an experiment where I ran late-night-show-style “writers’ rooms” on Zoom, where comics and comedy writers applied their process to delivering against a creative brief.
It went pretty well. So, after months of quarantining in New York City, fellow NYC comicSteve Maloy and I drove down to Chattanooga, Tennessee to become “Comedians in Residence.”
Besides coming up with a lot of haha-based branded content, we developed platforms for comics and comedy writers to pressure-test strategies and concepts within the agency.
Oh, and at night we did shows all around the South (outdoors and socially distanced, so don't trip).
We developed this (sold 3 right out of the gate):
And I got to make a Cameo in their work for Liquid Death
And if you write a spot, they sometimes let you be in it.
