From 2002 to 2004, The Bush Booth appeared at galleries across NYC, Chicago, and Amsterdam.
Video of George W. Bush listening, not speaking, was edited into a six-hour loop. I then built a soundproofed booth to house a monitor displaying this footage. Entrants were invited to express themselves to the artificially contemplative Bush.
The Bush Booth was never meant to bash Bush (too easy). Entrants could praise the listening George if they chose to. Instead, it was meant to be a fun reminder that our elected representatives are here to listen to us more than we are here to listen to them.
