Selfless Portraits is a collaborative art project where we invited people across the world to draw a randomly assigned stranger’s Facebook profile pic. In less than one year we had over half a million visitors and over 43,000 submissions.

This is the first portrait I received of myself. Participants can send a friend request to whoever they draw, or whoever draws them. I’m happy to say Morganna Batista from Brazil (the artist) and I are now Facebook friends.
Some “hacked” the project by imagining how their portrait would look side by side with the original when viewed in the Gallery. So instead of recreating the subject, this artist extended the background.
